Beacon Capital Campaign
Help us build the new Beacon Center.
Your generous pledge of financial support will help light
the way to a brighter future for those in need.
“Addressing the challenge of homelessness requires a bold and innovative approach.”
–Rev. Forrest Gilmore, Executive Director of Beacon, Inc.
Nearly 350 people in Bloomington and Monroe County, including families and children, experience homelessness on any given day. As the largest nonprofit housing provider in Monroe County, Beacon plays a pivotal role. Our challenges require a bold and innovative approach with community collaborations building on each other. The new Beacon Center offers a transformative opportunity to light the path forward to a brighter future for all.
“The community we assist is diverse, as are the individual issues that need to be addressed.”
–Charlotte Zietlow, Honorary Co-Chair
The new Beacon Center offers a solutions-driven approach with a comprehensive range of services from emergency shelter to employment training, and mental healthcare to lifelong homes. Now is the time for collective action. With your help, we can turn this visionary concept into a tangible reality.
“The new Beacon Center is built upon research and vision to tackle the challenges.”
–Gladys and Gene DeVane, Honorary Co-Chairs
First steps toward a brighter future begin with Beacon’s purpose-built facility. The new Beacon Center brings permanent housing, overnight shelter, and a daytime resource center into a single location. Community partners will also co-locate here to offer healthcare, mental health services, legal aid, and more.
“The new Beacon Center is designed to be a welcoming asset to the neighborhood and our community.”
–Eric Spoonmore, Honorary Co-Chair
The new Beacon Center is a testament to neighborhood integration and community collaboration. Developed on an abandoned site at 1201 W 3rd Street on Bloomington’s near west side, every detail is planned with the safety and convenience of our guests and surrounding neighborhood in mind.
“The time is now. The need is real. Light the way for people experiencing homelessness in our community.”
–Traci Jovanovic & Von Welch, Campaign Co-Chairs
More than a shelter, Beacon is a lifeline. Your financial contribution toward our new facility is a beacon guiding individuals from despair and uncertainty to stability and opportunity.
Together, we can build a community where homelessness is a memory of the past. Join us today to shape a future where everyone finds a place to call home.
